How Do I Get to Hobart?

Once you’re here, you can exchange your currency in many places, including at the airport when you arrive. Hobart has a couple of foreign exchange shops across the city, including banks.

All the above banks have automatic tellers (ATMs) that will take any international cards and nearly all international networks such as Cirrus, Plus, STAR international ATM mark, Interlink or Maestro POS mark. Travellers should contact their bank at home for information on availability and service charges. The most commonly accepted credit cards in Australia are American Express, Bankcard, Carte Blanche, Diners Club, MasterCard, Visa and BarclayCard.
ATMs usually dispense money in two lot’s, so please double check for money before leaving the machine.
Use ATMs that are affiliated with your home bank it will save you a few dollars every transaction.

What are the methods of travel available in Hobart?
Taxis, UBERS, busesand hire cars are all great methods of transportation when in Hobart. Please visit our ‘Getting There’ page for extensive details on each method of transport.
You can purchase a Metro Greencard or buy single tickets on board. The Greencard costs $25 (which includes a $5 deposit and $20 of credit) and is available from several Greencard agents as well as the Metro Shop on Elizabeth Street in Hobart. Once you have the Greencard, you’ll receive a discount to your bus fares and a daily cap, which will be automatically applied when you travel.
During the Conference
What is the dress code for the Conference?
The dress code throughout the day is smart casual. The dress code for any social events is also smart casual.
Where do I register when I arrive at the Conference?
The registration desk will be at Hotel Grand Chancellor and will be clearly marked. More information on the location of the desk will be confirmed closer to the event. Please direct any questions you may have regarding registration, session attendance or other elements of the conferenceto Leishman Associates staff at this desk.
How do I gain entry into the Conference sessions?
Delegates and exhibitors will be provided with an individual name badge, which will give you access to all sessions and social events that you have registered to attend. This must be worn at all times within the conference venues.
Will there be an electronic handbook and an App for the Conference?
An electronic copy of the handbook will be available for download from the website and emailed to you closer to the conference date. An Event App will be available to download for iOS and Android through the App Stores.
Conference WIFI?
Delegates have access to complimentary WIFI for the duration of the Conference. Please see the Leishman Associates staff at the registration desk to obtain the password.
How will I know if there have been any changes to the program?
In the lead-up to the conference, small updates will be made to the program. See the latest version on the website and in the Conference App. Any changes to the conference program during the conference will be announced during housekeeping notices each morning. You may also check with Leishman Associates staff at the registration desk.
Can I photograph or record the Conference sessions?
Delegates are not permitted to use any type of camera or recording device at any of the sessions unless written permission has been obtained from the relevant speaker. A professional photographer will be at the conference, if you have any issues with being photographed please notify the photographer or Leishman Associates staff.
Is there security at the Conference?
The members of the Conference Organising Committee and Leishman Associates accept no liability for personal accident of loss or damage suffered by any participant, accompanying person, invited observer or any other person by whatever means. Nor do we accept liability for any equipment or software brought to the conference by delegates, speakers, sponsors or any other party. Please protect your personal property. Do not leave laptops, cameras, and other valuable items unsecured. Be conscious of individuals who appear out of place and do not wear a conference name badge. Advise Leishman Associates staff if this does not occur.
What is the Anti-Harassment Policy?
We will not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Conference participants violating the Anti-Harassment Policy may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organisers.
If you experience any bad behaviour and/or you feel uncomfortable or unsafe during the conference, please contact the Conference Organisers.
Registration & Social Functions
I have special dietary requirements – what do I do?
You must advise the Conference Managers of any special dietary requirements when you register for the conference. Caterers at each function will be informed of these. During the day there will be a buffet table offering food suitable for dietary requirements. If you are unsure, please don’t hesitate to ask staff at the registration desk.
IMPORTANT– If your dietary request relates to a life threatening allergy, please ensure that you advise the organisers as soon as possible.
How do I know if I’m registered for a social function?
After registering for the conference you would have been emailed a Registration Confirmation which lists all social functions for which you are registered. If you require another copy please email nicole@leishman-associates.com.au.
Can I bring a partner along to the social functions?
Yes, you most certainly can – additional tickets can be booked when you registered online, or through the Leishman Associates office. Please email your request to nicole@leishman-associates.com.au if you have already registered. During the conference, bookings can be made at the registration desk, subject to availability.
Speaker, Chairperson or Poster Presenter
I am a Chairperson, what should I do?
Chairpersons will receive an email prior to the conference, reminding them of their responsibilities. If you are a chairperson and do not receive this, or have additional questions, please contact Nicole Lu at Leishman Associates (03 6234 7844).
I am a speaker, what should I do?
Please bring your PowerPoint presentation with you when you register. All speakers should present themselves to the Speakers Preparation Room, at least two hours prior to their scheduled presentation time, to upload their presentation. Speakers are also requested to assemble in their session room 5 minutes before the commencement of the session if possible, to meet with their session chair and to familiarise themselves with the room and the audio-visual equipment. There will be facility to test and modify your presentation if required within the Speakers Preparation Room.
Accommodation
How do I book my accommodation?
You can book your accommodation through the online registration form or by emailing to Nicole Lu to obtain an auto-login token to book your accommodation after you have registered. You will be asked to provide your check-in and check-out date as well as your credit card details to secure the booking. A fee equivalent to the first night of your stay will be taken at 30/45 days prior to your check-in by the hotel. The remaining sum will be due upon your arrival at the hotel. Delegates are encouraged to book in advance as availability closer to the conferencedate is not guaranteed.
I would like to change or cancel my accommodation booking?
Please email Nicole Lu to cancel or change your accommodation prior to the conference(at least 30 days prior to your arrival date to avoid additional fees). If you need to cancel your accommodation booking within 30 days of your arrival date any cancellation fees will be subject to the hotel cancellation policy. Therefore, no accommodation refund can be guaranteed within 30 business days of the conference. If you alter your accommodation booking after you have checked in, please deal directly with the hotel. If you arrive 24 hours later than your indicated arrival day, charges will apply.
Cancellation and Disclaimer
I need to cancel my registration, what do I do?
Cancellations must be received in writing – mail, email – to Leishman Associates. Cancellations will not be deemed to be received until you have written confirmation from Leishman Associates. If you have not received acknowledgement within two business days, please contact Leishman Associates on (03) 6234 7844.
Cancellations postmarked on or before, 1 month before the conference, will incur a fee of 50% of the registration amount. No refunds will be made for cancellations for the conferencepostmarked after 1 month before the conference, however substitutions may be accepted.
